  • Dr. Shea Winsett is an anthropologist from Washington, D.C. She grew up in Prince George’s County, MD. Dr. Winsett graduated from Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH, where she received her B.A. in anthropology. After graduation, she started her graduate school journey at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA, where she earned her M.A. in historical archaeology and her Ph.D. in historical anthropology. Dr. Winsett’s research focuses on race and race relations, African American anthropology and archaeology, urban anthropology, educational anthropology, and theory development.
